The Disco Files collates writer's classic columns.

For the first time, the magazine articles of Vince Aletti - the journalist who partied his way through 1970s New York but somehow managed to sober up each week and write about it - have been collated to give an original first hand account of the mirror ball era.

Vince's articles for Rolling Stone, Village Voice and After Dark, as well as more than 200 of his weekly columns for Record World are used, where he dishes the dirt on the scene, discusses the clubs, the DJs and the emerging disco industry.

Also included in the publication from the team behind DJHistory.com are original club charts from spinners including Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan, Nicky Siano and Richie Rivera as well as Vince's own weekly charts and reviews of every disco record worth knowing about.

Packaged with some beautiful never-published photos, this 500-page volume is out April 20. Eager disco fans can order early here to get a discount price and an exclusive CD based on Vince's 1978 'Steppin' Out' compilation.
