Mark E

This week's Bodytonic Podcast comes from enigmatic disco and house producer, Mark E. Famous for his sublime edits released on labels such as Jisco, Golf Channel and Running Back, he was also responsible for the great track from last year, "RnB Drunkie" - a Janet Jackson sampling cosmic groover - and older classics like the bouncy "Deja Vu".

Mark E will play 12Sundays on the 30th of March, but right now he brings us a brilliant 1 hour 13 minutes of disco, old school and truly deep house with a little bit of techno. First up, he answers our most probing pre-podcast questions!

The biggest Influence in my Life.....Wife and Daughter

The internet.....is something I use every day for hours at a time

If I could turn back time.....I would go back in time to when I was about 17, and instead of buying cheesy Italian piano house, I would be hoarding disco and US house 12's.

My first gig....Athletico night at Slam nightclub in Wolverhampton when I was 18, in a small little basement with a dance floor about 3m x 3m square, all my friends were there, it was perfect.

The funniest thing I ever heard....My mate once cauterized his own wounds after drunkenly climbing up a lamp post, slipping down and cutting the inside of both legs on a steel sign fixed to the post. Nice.

Food and music.....love 'em both

The best food in the world....Fish & Chips or a nice Partridge, I had a whole one on my 30th birthday.

One place you should definitely visit.... Wolverhampton, its ACE.

The happiest moment.... Arrival of my daughter Rosie

The best advice I ever got.....It's not always the case that you are on the outside looking in.
