Kormac's debut album Word Play due for release on 26th April 2010 on Scribble Records

"Kormac's stuff rocks - I'm a big fan of what he's doing right now... clear dancefloor bangers" - DJ Yoda

"He played live at Annie Mac Presents and had a barbershop quartet singing harmonies, plus trombones, trumpets and a double bass. He was scratching - it was the most bizarre setup I've ever seen, but it really works." - Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1)

"Reminds me of a cross between Kid Koala and Fingathing" - DJ Food (Ninja Tunes)

Scribble Records have announced the release date for the debut album from flagship artist Kormac. Word Play features DJ Yoda, DJ Cheeba (Ninja Tunes,) Koaste (Black Grass,) Messiah J & The Expert, MC Little Tree and of course, members of Kormac's Big Band.

Championed by the likes of Annie Mac, DJ Food, and Mr Scruff, a long player from Kormac has been much anticipated since the 2007 release of his Scratch Marchin' EP and subsequent Good Lord and Show Time releases.

Kormac's Big Band are a 10-piece group that perform his tracks. On stage you'll find a mix of brass, a barbershop quartet, turntables, banjo, double bass, drums, live visuals and the occasional guest vocalist.

Kormac DJs all over the world with recent shows in the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Bulgaria, The Ukraine and even in parts of southern Africa.

He also curates and runs his own club night - Kormac's Bakesale - where he invites his favourite acts and also his favourite Irish bakers along to show off their buns.

Kormac will be playing several of the bigger national and international festivals this summer and will also be heading out on tour with Beardyman. Kormac's Big Band will be launching the album with a live performance on Thursday 29th of April at The Twisted Pepper, Dublin with many of the guests from the album also joining them on stage.
