didn't we have a pop at applying for this with the scots before? dunno if it ever got off the ground though. we've two decent grounds for it - could maybe work.

Yeah that was when the GAA had their doors closed to football and the Bertie Bowl was only a mere dream.

Yeah, could be in with a shout, there's 8 stadia between Poland and Ukraine this year. Off to the top of my head there's Croker, Aviva, Millenium Stadium, Cardiff City Stadium, Celtic Park, Hampden Park and Ibrox.

We dirtied our name with the scots, was embarrassing, thomand has hosted two international soccer games beofre but prob not big enough for euro with 26000 capacity and dont know how many seats would be approved for soccer with the standing section, be great if it could happen

there'll be 24 countries in it by then, won't there? that's an extra two stadiums, we'd probably have to build another.

didi read uefa are against countries sharing it or was that fifa with the wc ? can't imagine uefa could be that strict as would limit it totally. turkey have registered interest in it too. sure they're not even european ffs. israel will be in for it next at this rate.

Azerbaijan are going in with Israel, they have a nice car park for pundits, think RTE are sending Roy over if they get it

I wonder if Murrayfield will be used by the scots to make up numbers. Also if Wales were to go for it they would need to increase the size of Cardiff City and possibly Swansea's stadium to the 30,000 cap minimum.

Interesting issue for a 3-way bid is it would seem unlikely all 3 hosts would get automatic qualifaction, especially as all of them would not be considered regular qualifiers. How would it be resolved - play-off between the 3? Country with least hosting stadia dropped? Or lowest world/european ranking at the time?
