As a liverpool supporter I would be happiest with Benitez over the other front runners. Despite the slagging the english media and other club's supporters would undoubtedly give him, the year in year out CL football he delivered in the past is nothing to be sniffed at. Of all the candidates he is far and away the most proven. I think he was taken for granted by a lot of supporters, and while he bought some duds, which manager hasn't?

All the same, sad to see Kenny being sacked. Not that I particularily wanted him to carry on, just don't like seeing any club legend lose their job.

i really hope they've a replacement lined up. I dont understand sacking a manager without a replacement lined up. understand the politics there of making an approach for a mgr while someone else is in charge is arguably off, but in an age of smokescreens and cuntish agents, thats surely possible

anyway , sad to see him go. personally had no problem with giving him another year. not out of sentimentality, just genuinely believed the potential was there, if the patience was too.

Ideally Rafa will come back but can't see it happening.

Can't see him accepting the director of football situation at all. It's funny though, the DOF position is intended to provide some transfer accountability when a manager moves on; however, when a club spend loads of money on shite players and then ownership sack everyone involved, it kind of defeats the purpose!
