Is it true that Mac's can't pick up viruses or have I got that totally wrong?!

There is Mac malware but because there's so few Macs compared to Windows it's not really worth the virus writers' time developing them.

Been an increasing volume of these recently and there's a certain problem in that because of the relative safety of OSX, Apple don't have a great response team. Microsoft have been attacked much more, so they do. There was a fairly recent huge exploit in OSX that took a bit longer to close than should have been the case really.
