Melt Festival is kicking off in Ferropolis, Germany on Friday morning. It’s been pissing down all over Germany for the past two weeks, while Spain has been basked in the most beautiful sunshine. Perhaps the countries’ football teams have something to do with the current polarised weather systems. In spite of the weather the festival is always a plush event. It’s set on a lake, you can stay in small huts and dormitories and instead of warm beer in the early hours, Melt goers are known to pop open bubbly with their breakfast. Apparently it’s one of the few festivals in Europe where you can actually get a decent nights sleep as people at Melt like to get their eight hours a night in rather than making up for three days of no sleep on Monday – in one section of the campsite, spoilt Germans can even have their breakfast brought to them in bed every morning. But Bodytonic won’t be tempted by sleep or bacon sandwiches in our sleeping bags. Hell no, we’ll be forgoing sleep, food and even enjoyment to bring you the best coverage possible. Booka Shade and Modeselektor on Friday, Efdemin and Oizo on Saturday and Battles and Shir Khan on Sunday. If there’s anyone else you want us to go along to and enjoy on your behalf please let us know. www.meltfestival.de Melt have kindly asked their resident DJ to put a mix together of the different artists playing. You have to register to download but after you’ve jumped through that small hoop you’ve got all that free music [right here] (http://www.melt-festival.de/de/news/melt-mini-mix-von-sick-sinus.html)
