The Moog analog synthesizer is responsible for sculpting the sounds of artists such as Daft Punk, Kraftwerk and New Order.

Designed by Dr Robert Moog, the Moog synth has become one of the most defining sounds in electronic music.

To celebrate and honour the Moog sound, a festival aptly entitled Moogfest has been announced in North Carolina.

Set to take to the stage so far are MGMT, Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation.
