A group of South Londoner's who know how to party!!

Lo*kee are a group of party organisers based in south London. Since 2008 they have specialized in hosting underground warehouse parties retaining PLUR ethos and the motto 'because we care'. As they prepare for a Summer hosting parties in Ibiza, Bulgaria, Croatia and more we find out whats behind the surface . . .

When did you start Lo*kee ?

April 2008

Why ?

For the love of a good party. Myself and two of my good friends (akie, sebastian voigt) wanted to create a special party for friends, we rented a warehouse unit where I moved into and we started lo*kee. We did Sunday day-time parties every two weeks for a year, friends invited friends who invited more friends. By the end of the year we were jamming 200 people into our little 'candy factory'. From there we have been moving around trying to find unused spaces around east London, it has been a crazy journey and one we are all really proud of.

Who or what was your biggest influence ?

The crowd, every time. We feel so lucky to be the orchestraters of fun for such a good group of people who continue to support us, without these people it would just be us 3 dancing in an empty warehouse!!

What was your biggest record ? And your best ?

For me it was every record thrown into the mix by Craig Richards and Seth Troxlers first ever back to back set. We are very proud they mixed together for the first time at lo*kee and the result was incredible. Anyone who was there that day knows what I am talking about.

Can you make a living running a label ?

We never set out to earn a living doing what we do, nothing too serious, nothing over planned. Being involved with underground parties is a way of life, not a way to support it. We know that through experience ;) we just want to have as much fun as possible and meet as many good people along the way.

If you could sign any artist, who would you go for ? And why ?

I think it would have to be our old friends dOP. The guys have played with us on three occasions now and never fail to impress. they are superstar artists who came and fitted perfectly into our ethos, amazing artists and super cool people.

Upcoming plans ?

All about the festivals at the moment, as well as glade, we are working on some exciting projects across Europe for travelling fun. Meadows in the mountains in Bulgaria, sonar, Ibiza and many more in the pipeline. I cant believe that a year has passed since festival season last year. The glade was a big highlight for us in 2011 and we cant wait to get back there this year.
